Halloween Treats!

I have been trying to think of a fall project that isn't a card. What better gift than a bag of treats? I am playing along with Waffle Flower's September Challenge Fall Favorites here.  I made 5 pumpkins from one of their dies!

I used my Quilt Circle Panel Die circles and made them pumpkins! My gate is from A Stamp In The Hand, the sentiment is My Favorite Things Primitive Pumpkin and the scallop die is My Favorite Things Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies. I ink blended the background behind the gate with purple and orange inks. I used a scalloped punch to edge the top of the bag and the leaves on the pumpkins are a little Family Treasures punch. I found these cute poems/chants about pumpkins for little children and that's how I decided to use fie of them. Look here!

Imagine opening the bag and finding cookies or candy inside? Great classmate or coworker surprise!

See you soon,

-Carol

Give Thanks

Here we are with another week of Tic Tac Toe Challenge fun! Here is my card using the right column moving down: frame, wreath, ribbon. Please join us here to get in the fall swing of things!

I started by ink blending with a variety of "fall colors" inks on a piece of white cardstock. Then I die cut wreaths using my Concord and 9th Joyful Noel dies, making 4 of them to stack. I knew I wanted to frame the wreath with my Sizzix Thinlits Geo Floral Frame, so I cut it once out of gold cardstock as a frame and again in white to put behind the wreath. I used my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Wonky Rectangles frame die to cut the leaf patterned paper and attached it to my A2 card base. I used some gold ribbon to "hang" my wreath after I had my white and gold pieces attached to the card. I found an older Thanksgiving sentiment stamp from Stampin' Up! and heat embossed it with copper powder, framed it with a brown mat, then popped it up on foam tape. I  LOVE the copper embossing so much!

I hope you will join us this week with all the unique choices we have to offer!

Birthday Party!

Here is a card I made for Seize the Birthday #223 using faux or real stitching...after I contemplated needle and thread, I decided that I could be frustrated with bent or torn cardstock, so I went for stitched circle dies. I was inspired by a similar card by Laura Bassen and went to work to make it my own.

I gathered birthday images, white embossing powder, Versamark ink, My Favorite Things Inside and Out stitched Circle Dies, and a variety of fun, bright colored cardstock. It really was a fun card to make, fitting images in different sizes of circles. I popped up some of the circles on foam tape.

Other Products I used:

Wine bottle and larger present: Mama Elephant

Birthday cake, candles, balloon, party hat, small present, sentiment: Stampin' Up!

Martini: Dollar spot at Michael's

Gems: Pretty Pink Posh

Embossing powder: JudiKins

I needed this challenge to get an arsenal of birthday cards going. It made me see all the birthday stamps I already have and do not NEED more!! LOL!

See you soon,

Thanksgiving Pie

We are all gearing up for cooking and eating season soon and I thought of yummy recipes for my card today. The Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 504 is a slimline or mini slimline card and these pies fit perfectly along the dinner table on my mini slimline card!

I used the My Favorite Things Sweet as Pie dies to make these little cherry, blueberry and pumpkin pies in their shiny aluminum pans and an old Inky Antics sentiment that I embossed with copper powder for a fall feel. (On the inside I used a Stampin' Up! Happy Thanksgiving sentiment stamp). I used my Stampin' Up! Word Bubble Framelits Dies for the speech bubble. Can't you hear the pies mocking the already full eaters on Thanksgiving?

I look forward to these fall holidays of cooking and hanging out with family, don't you?

See you back here soon,

-Carol

Autumn's Face

This card uses three of my longtime favorite wood stamps from waaaaaaaaaay back! When I saw The Paper Players Clean and Simple Challenge PP559 that is all about CAS "Fall Fun"...I knew I needed to get out these stamps!

The second picture is just for laughs... I didn't have any fall props for my picture. I went to Trader Joe's a couple of days ago and decided to try these chips...soooo good! They have corn, pumpkin, carrots and beets in them...and they taste as delicious as regular favorite tortilla chips!

I stamped the Stamp Francisco face, Magenta leaves, and Ann-ticipations sentiment with a variety of Stampin' Up! inks. I used my Simon Says Stamp wonky rectangle die to frame it, then decided to add the punched leaf to fill in some awkward white space. The card base is a deep green.

That's about it! Stop by The Paper Players and have some fall fun! It's always a great challenge.

Merry

Here is another card for the CAS Christmas Challenge: Plaid. Check out this fun challenge here!

I used my Concord and 9th Plaid Background stamp set rather than patterned paper (see my last post) to make the colors in my plaid match my card. It's a two-step, two-stamps process if you want the thin line and a different color. I used a Merry die (don't have the pkg. anymore to tell you the brand) to cut my sentiment and drew on a little Wink of Stella along the red line of the plaid so it sparkles like the red background above it. I used my FUN Simon Says Stamp CZ Design (Thanks Cathy for designing this!) Ho Ho Deer Circle die to cut into the card front, then used the same die to cut red glitter cardstock for his background and nose. I inlaid the die cut background and nose, then die cut a circle (My Favorite Things Inside and Out Stitched Circle dies) to adhere on the inside of the front of the card to hold my deer's nose and red background to the card. (Before adhering the circle on the inside I drew two black circles where the eyes would be on the deer on the side of this circle that faces the front of the card so I didn't have to try to inlay those tiny eyes. Thanks @scrapperatheart for the tip! I stamped on the circle inside so it carried on the Merry theme from the front and wasn't just sitting there blank. Last, I added three little red rhinestones for holiday sparkle!

Hope to see you back here again soon,

-Carol

Merry Christmas

The current challenge over at CAS Christmas (check it out here) is plaid and I have a Concord and 9th Plaid Background Stamp Set that came to mind immediately!

I used my MISTI to stamp the pink plaid stamp and then the green lines. How fun to make plaid any color you want to match your project! Using an aqua painter I watered down some green ink and brushed horizontally to make watercolor lines on a piece of white cardstock. Then I die cut The Stamp Market Dotted Tree. Next I grabbed The Stamp Market Candy Cane Christmas stamp and die set, cut out the words for my sentiment, and stamped Christmas over the green die cut. I struggle with lining up a stamp with its die cut, but I lucked out first time for once! I put all my elements on the plaid panel, matted it slightly with green and added some Pretty Pink Posh jewels to add sparkle!

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday and making it a stamping day!

Trick or Treat!

Here's is another Halloween card and this one is for the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #131 board this week! I chose the middle column going from top to bottom: Costume, Coloring, Plaid. Please join us this week for some fall fun!

This cute little trick-or-treater is an older wood mounted stamp by Stampotique that I have had for a long time and use every year. I stamped her with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink on a white cardstock panel, then stamped again on a post-it note to make a mask. After I cut the mask out I covered the image on the cardstock with it and ink blended grey, purple and orange inks for the background. Next I used my wave stencil by Sugar Pea Designs to add Picket Fence distress Ink over the ink blending. I took off the mask and stamped the stars and swirl stamp from a Stampin' Up Independence Day set in grey ink. I colored the trick-or-treater with Prismacolor pencils and stamped the My Favorite Things Primitive Pumpkin set sentiment with my SSS Intense black ink. I ran the colored panel through my Big Shot machine with one of my Wonky Rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamp, then matted it with violet, black and plaid papers to mount on my orange card base. I forgot to color her necklace before I took the picture, so they are pearls! LOL!

Hope you will visit us and create something with our newest board!

Merry

I couldn't resist another card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Challenge #558 with this cute Jingle All The Way set and Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame Die-Namics!

I used Copic markers to color my images and then fussy cut them out. I die cut the rectangles, scored them in half, folded them, and stamped a portion of some of the sentiments inside the doors so they would fit. Merry Merry!

See you soon,

-Carol

Merry Everything

How about a cup o' cheer? This is officially my first Christmas card of 2021. I bought more of this patterned paper today in case I needed it for this card which was still a vision in my head. The My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #558 is a nice linear design, so I couldn't resist playing along.

I used my MFT Mini Cafe All Day dies to create the drink and surprise pull up message inside the cup. I also hand cut the holly and berries. Then I stamped the sentiments with the MFT Jingle All The Way stamp set and popped the outer one up on foam tape and the other is stamped as you can see on the cup insert. Done! I like how the steam sits right above the drink lid in the second photo when the surprise message is revealed! Totally by chance!

See you soon,

-Carol

Happy Halloween

I guess I am in Halloween mode now due to the challenges out there! This week at Just Us Girls Challenge #600 they are asking for 6 of anything and I have 6 pairs of Halloween costume glasses for them! But first, 600 challenges?!! What a milestone!! Congrats to everyone at JUGS!!!!

I used my Concord and 9th Bright Eyes dies for the glasses and cut Halloween colored cardstock with them, including black and silver glitter cardstock for some nice sparkle. I used my Stampin' Up! Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set for the fun images in the lenses. They are some of my favorite Halloween stamps that I own. The sentiment and black stars are from My Favorite Things Primitive Pumpkin stamp set (older set) and I used Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. I wanted more shiny objects, so I added a variety of sequins from my stash! I am adding this card to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where this week they want Sparkle and Shine!

Hope your fall is off to a good start!

See you back here soon,

-Carol

Thinking of You

Happy Anniversary to Color Hues The Color Challenge (click here)!  This fun challenge is a year old! This week the colors are yellow and orange and there are prizes to win during this celebration! That's right, TCH#25 has a great sponsor, so go see who it is, join in the fun, and enter a card! There is also a new design team member who you might know. All sorts of fun happening over there! Here is my card:

I used my Concord and 9th Thinking of You stamps and dies along with Copic markers to create this card. The leaves are colored a neutral Sahara Sand (a Stampin Up! marker) and I stamped my floral frame and sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Intense black ink. I used a little Wink of Stella pen here and there for shimmer, too. (Sadly doesn't show in pictures.) I love the flowers and font of this stamp set so much! I used a piece of yellow patterned paper to contrast the white frame and mounted it all on a white A2 side-fold card base.

Go check out the celebrating going on over at Color Hues and think about making a card!

See you soon,

-Carol

Boo to You!

There's a new board today at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #129 (here) and this week fall is definitely in the air! It was my turn to design the board and I hope you find fun choices for the challenge. I chose the first column going from top to bottom: pumpkin, corn/candy corn, purple. Here is my criss cross card. (Check Splitcoaststampers and Pinterest for the criss cross card tutorial.)

I like this style of card because it is interactive. The inner card pulls out and has a place to write a message. I went old school and made a punch art bat coming out of a Jack O' Lantern/pumpkin. The face is stamped with an old Stampin' Up! Halloween pumpkin set and the sentiment inside is from another old set by My Favorite Things called Primitive Pumpkin.  I used an oval punch for the pumpkin, and a small circle punch to cut the under side of the bat's wings (from a large punched oval). The bat himself is an owl punch and I improvised the hat/pumpkin top. All punches are Stampin' Up! A fun card to make!

Check out what the design team came up with and join us this week!
