Holly Jolly Christmas

I promise...no more posts today. I have to go out of town and wanted to share one more tag for the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags Of Christmas 2021 + Challenge here. It is my first time using this WaffleFlower Crafts Flat Paper Bag die. And since there are fresh holly sprigs, faux holly wreaths and holly embellishments left and right at this time of year, I added some to the shopping bag as a touch of this Christmas icon to my tag. I was inspired by Day 12 Holly Jolly Christmas and the song is stuck in my head!!!!!

Products used:

Waffle Flower: Flat Paper Bag die (I popped it up to look more 3D...not sure you can see that)

Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Christmas Mini Dies 2021

Stampin Up!: letters and numbers stamp (the kind you wind for each letter to spell your words)

Reverse Confetti: Tag die

I like unconventional Christmas colors and was taken by some tissue paper from a pair of shoes I bought! Inspiration is everywhere!

See you soon...maybe with a sewing project!

Let It Snow Juggling Santa

When you see an image of snowballs above a snowman do you think he is juggling? I do! For the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas 2021 + Challenge Day 4 Let It Snow made me think of making a juggling snowman tag even though I don't have a Let It Snow sentiment. But since he is smiling and having fun we all know he doesn't mind the white stuff!

Products used: Pretty Pink Posh Happy Snowman stamp and dies

Studio Katia: Slider Tag die

My Favorite Things: Joy Love Peace stencil

Inside Sentiments: Stampin' Up!

Copic Marker: snowman shadow

Tree House Studio: PomPoms

The Twinery: twine

Is it snowing yet where you live? Happy Holidays!!!

Jingle Bells

I'm back with another tag for the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas 2021 + Challenge here! I was out shopping recently and saw a fabric tag with machine embroidery on the front that had a pocket in the back for a gift card. I took a picture so I would not forget about it. I've been wanting to stamp on fabric and this is how my idea materialized (pun intended!) I was inspired by Day 6 Jingle Bells with Angela Simpson and Brenda Noelke.

Inspiration from a little store on Anna Maria Island, FL below.

I gathered my fabrics and quilt batting, ribbon, the stamp (from Ellen Hutson 'Tis The Season stamp set) and StazOn ink. I stamped my tag on white fabric then ironed it to set the ink. Then I cut a tag shape from the stamped piece and batting, and patterned fabric for the back and binding.

I stacked the stamped piece onto the batting and sewed on my jingle bells and ribbon. Next I bound it all like a quilt. I sewed on the ribbons at the top for tying to a package! Next time I won't put batting inside, but some thin interfacing.

I hope to make more tags for this challenge, but I am also finishing a new tree skirt and need to get that project done now that the tree is up!

See you soon,

-Carol

O Christmas Tree

This is the first of what I hope are more tags for the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge 2021 here! I chose to make my tag based on the December 11th song theme "O Christmas Tree" with Carissa Wiley's and Galena Filippenko's creations. I adore Carissa's pink tree and wanted to use that idea as my jumping off point. My tag is actually three tags all in one! A tag within a tag with a tag on top!

I used all Ellen Hutson products except the tree die from The Stamp Market, the hat die from Lawn Fawn and the To:/From: is Stampin' Up! I cut three trees and adhered two together for sturdiness, then cut another one part way down to make a little pocket and adhered it on top of the other trees. As you can see, the two-sided tag in the pocket has a red glittery heart (Ellen Hutson All Inside dies) and a package (patterned paper) and on the back side the sentiment is from 'Tis The Season, an Ellen Hutson Christmas set from years ago) that I still use every year. I stamped and fussy cut the holiday martini from the Ellen Hutson Mini Voices In My Head set and colored it with copics. I hand cut all the tiny tags. There is Wink of Stella on Santa's bear's hat and drink, but I couldn't capture it with our sunny one minute, cloudy the next minute weather situation today. It really adds festive sparkle, along with the little rhinestones on the tree! In case you are wondering, the little "To: and From:" tag on top will work with initials instead of the person's full name. It's itty bitty but oh so cute to be a little tag!

Hope this made you chuckle and start singing O Christmas Tree!!

Golden Sea Gift Box

For our latest Tic Tac Toe Challenge #143 I chose the row on the bottom from left to right: Gold, Stars, Banner. I found this cool cardstock in my stash with gold outlined seashells and anchors and just had to incorporate it. Since the Christmas decorations in my Florida home are mostly tropical, this little gift box fits in perfectly under my tree, but I could make these boxes to be used any time of year with this cardstock! I am also entering it at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge here and the Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies challenge here.

I used Sam's tutorial again here from her YouTube channel Pootles Papercraft, some gold matte and gold detailed cardstock sheets, white cardstock, a bone folder, sticky tape and gold stretchy cord. I also used Impression Obsession's shell die set and Reverse Confetti Star dies on my banner. I strung my die cut STARfish and gold stars on gold cord. With twine, the stars would hang more casually than this stiffer gold cord to look like a banner and since I wasn't sure it looks like a banner...I also embossed, in gold, the sentiment from Flora and Fauna's Christmas By The Sea stamp set on a Bitty Banners framelit die from Stampin' Up! The milk carton lid lifts off and you can get quite a bit of candy inside, or maybe some other small gift!

Hope you are inspired by all the design team projects this week and will join us!

Happy Little New Year!

Here is my first new year card of the season! I am playing along with The Color Throwdown Challenge #671 and right away the pink, grey, silver and white colors made me think of a winter scene. I seem to have acquired a little collection of snowpeople and I chose this one for her size. I was thinking that this could be a card for a family with a new baby or a cat lover, a child, or just a stamper who "gets" things like this!

Products used:

All Night Media: snowboy/girl stamp

Pretty Pink Posh: Winter Scene Die

Simon Says Stamp: Drifting Stitches Borders (snow bank)

Momenta: Embossing folder

Stampin' Up!: Stars border punch, stars framelits

Prismacolor: colored pencils (cheeks and nose)

Copic: C3 grey marker

Computer generated sentiment

Hope your holiday festivities are well on their way and the season is happy and healthy for you! I hope you have a "happy little new year" too!
