Are we cardmakers or are we art supply collectors? I'd like to say the former, but lately I have embodied the latter. Hard to keep up with all the products and ideas online that catch my eye. I mean, look at the name of my blog! I am so excited to be Guest Designer for Time Out Challenges #256, which is a photo inspiration CASE the Designer theme. Here is my card and the challenge graphic. Read below for all the challenge details and prize sponsor Sarah Gray of Funky Fossil Designs. With this card I am also playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.
Products I used:
Waffle Flower: Favorite Hobby stamp set
Stampin' Up: Tote-ally Tess stamp set (from years ago), patterned paper
The Greetery: Curio frame die
Prismacolor pencils
Distress inks
Ink blending brushes
Versafine Onyx Black ink
My card has a lot of masking so that I could ink blend color behind the craft supplies. The "I (heart) Stamping" rectangle was made by cutting a Post It down to cover the sentiment and stamp the brushes "behind" it.
Check out all of the great Time Out DT cards for this fun challenge! It is right up our card making alley and made me think I need to make cards on this theme more often for my fellow crafters!

My favorite is also Collecting art supplies, Carol :D I love the way you chose the theme and played with the cute stamps and what a fun layout too. I have some tiny stamps like these but I have never known how to use them, except as light repetitive background. I finally found a way to use them. Thank you for this beautiful, cute and inspiring card and being our guest at Time out :)
Fabulous card Carol! I have suspected for a while that I fit into the collector category - so many lovely things I've been tempted to buy and so little time to make something with them!
Thank you for joining us as our guest this challenge at Time Out!
Hugs, Kate!
Love your card! It made me smile! Your soft inking behind the crafty images really grounds the images and I love how coordinated all your colours are. That sentiment is a hoot! And resonates! If I were to CASE your blog title, mine would be "Saw it. Had to buy all the stash required to make it. Probably won't actually make it". Hugs, Lesley btw love the card to CASE too.
The comment above is cracking me up! I love your card too, Carol. I love all the details like your choice of patterned paper and all the colors you pulled from it, the soft inking behind the images, the arrangement of all of those wonderful crafting supplies... Thank you so much for Guest Designing with us. It's always great to see you in the gallery, and even more special to have you designing with us.
What a creative and fun use of Sarah's inspiration for our Time Out challenge! So happy to have you guest designing with us!
Thanks ladies! It is so fun to guest with you all. I am enjoying your cards as well!
Congrats on guesting, Carol! Your card is heaps of fun and yes, the sentiment rings true! I would also add organizing it all is as much fun as the collecting!
Love your card and the theme. I am like you, I think I am a collector also. You know the store named JoAnn's, well I feel like I have my own JoAnn's store :)
Congrats on your guest designer spot.
Such a clever take on the inspiration photo, Carol! So many special elements to explore. COngratulations for joining us as GD this challenge. Enjoy your weekend! :)
