I have a post on the Poppystamps Blog today with a red, white and blue card on today's holiday, Flag Day. I originally made the card for the 4th of July this year which celebrates our country's 250th anniversary, but since my post is live today at Poppystamps, it is also to commemorate Flag Day in the US. I took products and used them for a purpose other than the originally intended one to make the flag. It was a fun way to look at some new products.
What I used:
- Poppystamps 2773 Nordic Scatter Flowers, 2757 Diamond Oval Pinpoint Background die, 2764 Fine Eyelet Frames
I die cut an A2 size panel out of white card stock. Then I die cut a second one out out of red card stock. After doing a little math, I cut the red one into strips that would fit an A2 card base. They were adhered to the white panel with liquid glue to make the red and white stripes part of the card. I took the new Fine Eyelet frames die set and selected a small one for the blue section of the flag and cut off one end to fit the flag design. I adhered it to the top left of the card, then added some new Scatter Flowers for the star area. I didn't want to interrupt the flag design, so I left off a sentiment. There are even more photos of my card on the Poppystamps blog, so stop by to take a look.
I know someone born on Flag Day and two people near the 4th of July. This card works for birthdays, holidays or just for fun.
Happy Flag Day, Happy Summer!
