Hello Birthday Girl

Here is a card I just made to contribute to a 4 year old's birthday coming up, right after her family has suffered the loss of her little brother. Via Craft Roulette, we (hundreds of Craft Roulette cardmakers) were asked to send the little girl a card to flood her mailbox with birthday joy. Her favorite part of the day is getting the mail and she likes flowers, among other things. I am also sharing it at Time Out Challenges #271 as their prompt right now is Friendship, Encouragement, Support.

I stamped the images (Mama Elephant) with Altenew Obsidian Pigment ink and colored them with Copic markers. (I didn't really color the animals much so that the flowers got more attention.) I die cut the Hello shadow (Simon Says Stamp) out of a pink matching the pink marker I used, then cut the Hello with sparkle cardstock. I added a little Wink of Stella sparkle to the flowers and animals to match my sparkly Hello. I stamped the sub-sentiment (Stampin' Up!) and adhered the Hello above it. I masked off the animals' feet and put a long Post-it toward the bottom area of the card base, then ink blended a little green for the ground where they are standing.
.

I hope you are having a nice weekend, lots of football on and a little cooler weather hopefully?

Thanks for stopping by,

Carol

Such a sweet card Carol. I'm sure it will bring some comfort to this young lady at a very difficult time in her life and that of her family's. God bless your kindness! And thanks for sharing with us at Time Out Challenges! Hugs, Kate (DT Time Out)!

What a tragedy for this family, and what a tribute to the power of a (large) group of crafters banding together to support them. Awful story, but beautiful at the same time. Thank you for sharing both this sweet card and moving story with us at Time Out!
